Avant de commencer sa carrière d'humoriste, Sylvain a étudié en chimie à l'Université McGill et a également obtenu son Baccalauréat en Administration des Affaires de l'école des H.E.C. de Montréal.
Dans les années qui suivirent, il fut récompensé entre autres du prestigieux trophée Olivier d'Auteur de l'Année à quatre reprises : en 2000, 2002, 2004 et 2007.
Son écriture efficace, pleine de finesse et sa connaissance du milieu des affaires font de lui un choix idéal pour des prestations lors de soirées corporatives. Que ce soit pour un rôle d'animateur, de maître de cérémonies ou simplement pour un spectacle, Sylvain atteint la cible à tout coup d'autant qu'il peut même écrire, si besoin est, des numéros sur mesure pour l'événement. Before Sylvain began a comedy career, he studied chemistry at McGill University. Later, he got a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Montreal. After graduation, he became a representative for a major computer company, and started doing stand up comedy here and there in various comedy clubs at night.
In English Canada, his talent led him to be featured in 8 JUST FOR LAUGHS comedy festivals where he participated in the Just for laughs Galas on the big stage as well as several other festival venues, such as ''Comedy Night in Canada'', ''Bubbling with laughter'', and ''The Montreal Show''. His other television credits in English Canada include his own episode of the critically acclaimed CBC series ''Comics'', as well as ''The founding nations of Comedy'' from the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
This extensive and skilled background makes Sylvain the perfect choice to host, emcee or simply do stand-up comedy at any corporate event. A big plus is that he can do the job in FRENCH, in ENGLISH or BILINGUALLY, switching languages back and forth, adjusting to the crowd, making everybody feel happy and a part of the event.
